Responsible for the direction, supervision, and productivity of millwork shop: Follow detailed work schedule, ensure AWI quality and quantity standards, as well as production and safety procedures and goals are met; supervision and training of personnel, and other similar duties primarily those pertaining to the shop.

Regulate and manage the daily activities of the millwork shop: Work from detailed plans and drawings, prepare cutting lists when needed; assign work to personnel and establish deadlines; inspect work to ensure quality and completeness; confer with Project Managers and/or other staff personnel in order to ensure schedules are maintained, advise the Production Manager of conformance to shop schedule, prepare and communicate corrective action plan for any deviations, monitor job progress and related documents to ensure actual labor and material consumed are in line with estimates; review shop time tickets and material charges for accuracy. Maintain budget for areas of responsibility, e.g. small tools, sharpening, trash removal, inventory, etc.

Establish operating and safety policies and procedures, as needs arise. Train and set standards on new equipment/processes. Facilitate/document OSHA training compliance for all plant personnel. Ensure required maintenance schedules and repairs are preformed on shop equipment and machinery. Supervise quarterly material inventories. Confer with supervisor regarding recommendations for shop expansion and/or layout, replacement or major repair of machinery, staffing levels, etc. Supervise receiving and shipping functions to ensure accuracy/completeness/timeliness.

Act as building superintendent: Ensure the security, cleaning and maintenance; open and/or close facility; start up and monitor heating; ensure sidewalks are shoveled as weather dictates: perform routine repairs to the facilities or hire contractor to perform major repairs.

Train, instruct, assign and check work of subordinates. Ensure alignment with company policies and procedures, methods and practices, standards of performance, and other matters effecting their work. Evaluate performance, confer with supervisor on personnel or other matters affecting subordinates. Support and enforce all company policies and procedures. Actively participate in continuous improvement.

Perform other similar duties dictated by responsibility or necessity, or requested by supervisor.
